LG has announced that they will be making the first rollable keyboard. The LG Rolly is a Bluetooth keyboard made for your mobile devices, that rolls into a slim stick that fits in a pocket or bag. The Rolly is a full-size keyboard that is powered by a single AAA battery, and features a built-in stand for your devices. The keyboard is said to be able to run for three months, before needing the battery to be replaced. The Rolly will be officially launched in Berlin, at IFA 2015; the largest electronics trade show in Europe. LG is also rumored to announce their latest G Pad tablet, at IFA 2015.
It seems LG is hoping these products help improve their last quarter's results ($211 million, down from $516 million in the same time period last year). It is believed that these poor results are due to LG slackening the demand for their newer TVs and smartphones.

Today at PAX, Razer announced that they will be making a premium XBOX One controller. This seems to be a direct competitor to the official Microsoft Elite Controller. The Wildcat has been described as "a pro-gamer-validated, tournament-grade, console controller." According to Razer, this Controller was built specifically for the purposes of e-sports. They even consulted with professional gamers during the designing process, in order to get the best results. The Wildcat will include removable back triggers made out of aluminum, a four-button media control panel, and specially designed carbon steel analog sticks. The controller is also wrapped in a rubberized grip that features accents of green to match your XBOX. This premium XBOX One controller also includes something else. A premium price tag.
The Razer Wildcat will come in at $150. The same price point as the Microsoft Elite Controller. You will be able to grab yourself a Wildcat controller in October. While everyone is anticipating September 9th for the release of the new iPhones, it is possible that Apple will be giving another one of their products an overhaul. The product in question? The Apple TV. It is being strongly suggested that Apple will be unveiling the next generation of their set top box next month. One of the biggest changes expected to come to the Apple TV is the controller. According to rumors the new Apple TV remote will include a built in microphone and touch pad, as well as motion sensitivity (similar to the technology in the Wii). Whether Apple releases this motion controller or not, it is believed that the next Apple TV will become a major competitor in the casual gaming market. Apple is supposed to finally release an App Store for the Apple TV. If this is executed, it surely won't take long for games to be developed for the set top box. In terms of the changes inside the Apple TV, all that is being said now is that Apple will be upgrading the A8 processor (the latest processor currently in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus). However, due to the fact that the Apple TV does not need to limit itself to conserve energy, the performance of the chip should be better on the Apple TV. Why is Apple finally updating the Apple TV? Well, it seems that as of right now, Apple will not be releasing their own TV streaming service. This is due to issues with making content deals. It is being suggested that Apple is launching their new box now to gain leverage over future negotiations with TV networks (if the new AppleTV set top box does good, that means that there are more people that will be available to use Apple's TV streaming service). Personally, I think it makes more sense for Apple to release their box now, in order to help build hype for their streaming service. I'm excited to see what changes really do come to the new Apple TV, if it is unveiled next month. The time is FINALLY upon us! Apple has sent out the invitations, announcing that their next big event of the year will be held on September 9th. This event will host the unveiling of this years iPhone(s). The next iPhones are but confirmed to get upgraded processors, RAM, cameras, and displays; all wrapped in an almost identical (if not slightly thicker) casing. In terms of what else Apple has in store for their latest event; it is being suggested that Apple will unveil the all new, all bigger iPad Pro. It is also possible that Apple will announce a long overdue update to Apple TV. If you want to try and find anymore information about the event, try asking Siri. She has been hard at work trying to come up with new (non) answers. Apple will be streaming their event live. If you are interested in watching, here are the requirements:
Requirements: Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires a second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later. The Apple event begins at 10 A.M. PDT. Be sure to stay tuned to find out what Apple has to offer next month. The Galaxy S6 edge I've said it before. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is a really good phone. It has a great display, really good build quality, one of the best cameras on a smartphone, and amazing performance. For me personally, there was always one issue with the Galaxy S6 edge. The SIZE. For almost a year now, I've been using much larger phones (iPhone 6 Plus, LG G3, and Nexus 6), and I have to say I have not only gotten used to the larger screens but I now prefer them. With having been using these giant phones, the S6 edge felt very small, almost uncomfortably small. This has been my only issue with the Galaxy S6 edge. If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen me talk about what I wanted from the Samsung S6 edge. I've said that if Samsung were to make a phone like the Galaxy S6 edge, with a screen size between 5.5" and 5.9", that would be my perfect phone. Guess, what? I was not wrong. The Galaxy S6 edge+ About a week ago, Samsung officially unveiled their latest smart phones; the Samsung Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+. These are Samsung's two larger phones for 2015. The S6 edge+ is the 5.7"-right in between 5.5" and 5.9"-big brother of the S6 edge. The other day, I got a chance to test out the S6 edge+ and I have to say, that phone truly is an amazing phone. The S6 edge+ is everything good about the S6 edge, just in a larger package. It features a great display, really good build quality, and an amazing camera.
There are also some really great features that were added to the S6 edge+, but I didn't have a chance to test them out with the limited amount of time I had with the Phone. What I was able to notice about the phone is that it does have great performance, and the phone itself, although lightweight, feels very solid in the hand. For me personally, the S6 edge+ felt extremely comfortable to hold. As you've probably heard, this is a fairly slippery phone, but it definitely isn't a major concern. The curved display feels extremely smooth, and comfortable to use when swiping. Final Thoughts The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is, all around, an amazing phone. I would even go as far as saying it is my perfect phone. For a few months-even after S6 edge+ was announced-I had been considering going back to using an iPhone as a daily driver, once this years model became available. But, after getting some hands on time with the edge+, I will definitely be working to get my hands on this phone as my daily pocket device. We see it every year. Countless rumors talking about what's going to be included in the next iPhone. This year, is no different. There have been talks of this years iPhone getting the expected processor upgrade, along with a few additional changes. These changes have included; an additional gigabyte of RAM, a Force Touch display, a better shell (no more BendGate), and an improved camera. iPhone 6s Camera The camera is what we are talking about today. According to a report, from Apple's supply chain "Apple is currently ordering suppliers to produce five-element lenses for the iPhone 6s that are designed to work with a 12-megapixel camera sensor." The concept of Apple upgrading the current 8-megapixel camera to a newer 12-megapixel camera, definitely is not something we haven't heard before. This has been suggested for at least a few months now. But, this report does seem to add some support to that claim. As with all rumors, even those with some support behind them, they should be taken lightly. This wouldn't be the first time that a "confirmed" rumor turned out to be false. There is no doubt that the 12-megapixel camera would be welcome on the new iPhone, especially when you take into consideration the fact that Apple hasn't upgraded the 8-megapixel sensor since the iPhone 4S. Now, don't get me wrong. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus do take great photos, but that doesn't mean they couldn't take better photos.
What do you guys think? Is the camera on the new iPhone "confirmed"?
During the 2015 Pokemon World Championships, Nintendo made a very exciting announcement.
Pokken Tournament, an arcade-based game that has previously only been available in Japan, is coming to the Wii U. The Wii U version, like its arcade counterpart, will be developed by Bandai Namco. Bandai Namco is known widely as the developer of TEKKEN. During the announcement of Pokken coming to Wii U, it was also announced that an additional character was being added to the current Pokken line up.PIKACHU LIBRE.
Pokken Tournament will be released for the Wii U worldwide, in the Spring of 2016.
The Moto G (2015)
For a couple of years now, Motorola has been offering a lower end phone called the Moto G. This phone, although cheaper, has been growing in popularity. Due to this increase in fanbase for the Moto G, every new iteration of this entry level smartphone, has seen drastic improvements from the one before. Currently on its 3rd generation, the Moto G seems to have become much more than just a cheap alternative for someone on a budget. The 2015 Moto G is (in its own right) an amazing smartphone. Although it does not have flagship specs, the specs that it does have, are impressive. They are even more impressive when you take into consideration, the price of the phone ($180-$220 unlocked) Specs: -SnapdragonTM 410 with 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 with 400MHz GPU -1GB RAM with 8GB storage option/2GB RAM with 16GB storage option -MicroSD expansion up to 32GB -5", 720p display -Corning Gorilla Glass -2470mAh battery, mixed usage up to 24 hours -IPX7 water resistant -13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera -Single front-facing speaker -Video capture 1080p at 30fps
Not Just A Cheap Knock-Off
As you can see from the list above, this phone doesn't have the craziest specs out there. The Moto G does however, have great specs for its price range. An added bonus with the Moto G, is the ability to customize it with Moto Maker. Between the extremely affordable pricing, the decent specs, and the ability to customize the phone; this phone is great for anyone looking for an exceptional android phone that doesn't break the bank.
The Perfect Phone For Someone Else
This phone isn't just for those looking for a bargain. There is another group of people this phone is perfect for. I think that the Moto G makes a great first phone for younger users. The almost completely stock Android software makes the phone simple and easy to use. The specs make this phone great for handling most tasks; music, movies, games, social media, and mobile photography. The 5 inch screen size make it great for smaller hands, and the IPX7 water proofing means it can withstand certain accidents (no more worries about dropping your phone in the toilet). Final Thoughts So, whether your a first time smartphone buyer. Someone looking for a great bargain on a smartphone. Or just someone that doesn't need a 6 inch phone with a Quad HD display, octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a camera that rivals that of some DSLRs. The Moto G 3rd generation is definitly worth checking out. Recently, Razer has shown great interest in the area of immersive gaming. First there was the OSVR virtual reality helmet. Their latest product, a 3-D sensing camera that uses Intel's RealSense technology. Razer is gearing this Kinect style camera specifically for gaming applications. For example, for gamers that stream on Twitch the sensors in the cameras can trace around the gamer's face and replace the background. It's works like an automatic green screen, without needing an actual green screen. Another (speculated) function is using the RealSense camera as a tool for VR gaming. For example; using it external tracker for VR headsets, scanning real objects in order to put them in the game, track hand motion, etc. Currently, there is not much more information to go on with this device. There is no pricing or estimated release date other than "coming soon". The biggest piece of information surrounding this RealSense camera is the collaboration with Razer, and the possibility of this being part of something bigger for Razer VR. One of Microsoft's latest projects, code named "Project Juggernaut Alpha" has begun surfacing online. Let me apologize now for that terrible pun, it will become clear in a moment. The new device is rumored to be a Windows 10 smartphone. It is believed that once the device is released to the public, it will be called the Surface Mobile. The rumored specs on the phone are as follows: -64-bit Intel Atom chip -3 or 4GB RAM -64 and 128GB storage -MicroSD expansion -USB Type-C -Wireless charging -21 Megapixel rear camera -8 Megapixel wide-angle front camera -Surface Pen -Unibody metal design -5.5" Quad HD display This phone will come standard with Windows 10. Although the specs have been reported as 'subject to change', many are hoping that the specs stay close (if not exact) to the ones listed above. Final Thoughts
The Surface Mobile seems like an extremely promising phone. The suggested specs are beyond amazing. The design, in my opinion, is exceptional. Plus, being equipped with Windows 10, this phone will be the closest thing to having a full PC experience in your pocket. |
