If you own Injustice 2 Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition, or have purchased the Fighter Pack 1 DLC, then the first downloadable character should now be available. That character is the highly anticipated Red Hood. He was officially released yesterday (Tuesday, June 13th). But, some people have reported installation issues. Now, if you've already made the necessary purchase (as listed above), then Red Hood SHOULD have already been installed automatically. But, if this is not the case for you, then you might need to install him manually. PlayStation 4 Installation
On your PS4 system, you will need to go to the Injustice page of your consoles home menu. From there, you will need to go to the My Addons section and manually download your available DLC. If you've already made the necessary purchases - either bought Fighter Pack 1, or if you own either the Deluxe or Ultimate editions of the game - Red Hood should be available to install with a "free" pricing. Xbox One Installation On your Xbox One console, go to the My Games and Apps section. From there, go to the Injustice 2 icon and select Manage Game. Once here, you will be able to manually install Red Hood. After following these steps, on either console, you will need to restart your game. Red Hood should now be available to play. Thank you for reading. I hope this helps.

With the not so successful runs of the Nintendo Wii (launched 2006) and Wii U (launched 2012), many people were beginning to question Nintendo's place in the consoles race. Consumers started to question whether or not Nintendo could keep up with Microsoft's XBOX or Sony's Playstation line-ups. Now, fast forward a few years to 2017, we have the launch of Nintendo's latest "console"; The Switch. And, it looks like Nintendo is ready to go toe-to-toe with the giants, once again. But, is the excitement over Nintendo's latest product justified? Nintendo Switch: Build Quality The Nintendo Switch definitely doesn't follow in its predecessors' footsteps when it comes to build quality. The Wii and Wii U, in my opinion, felt cheap. They felt like toys that could easily be broken, if handled just a little too firmly. The Switch, however, has a nice solid feel to it. It is lightweight, but doesn't feel flimsy. Even with the Joy-Con controllers connected to the tablet. Once the controllers slide into place, they are securely locked in. Nintendo Switch: Display The Switch comes with a 6.2" capacitive touch screen, with a resolution of 1280X720. For some people this aspect of the Switch was a bit of a let down. However, I've had no issues with this resolution. When it comes to gameplay on the Switch offers sharp image quality and vibrant colors. Nintendo Switch: Battery Life The Nintendo Switch has a 4310mAh lithium-ion battery. Nintendo says you will get anywhere between two and a half to six and a half hours of screen-on time. While playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild I've been getting a little over three hours of play time. It is estimated that it takes the Switch three hours to fully charge, while plugged into the dock. Apart from the tablet, the Joy-Con controllers are estimated to run for about twenty hours on a single charge. Now, I have not used the Joy-Cons on a single charge longer than the few hours that the tablet lasts. So I cannot confirm this. Nintendo Switch: Controls The Joy-Con controllers are, in all honesty, surprisingly comfortable to use. when I first saw the controllers, I thought they were going to be too small to use comfortably. I was expecting to use the controller grip, whenever i had the Switch connected to my TV. This turned out not to be the case. Using the Joy-Cons separately, while playing with the Switch docked is easily my favorite way to play. The Joy-Con grip is very lightweight, and fairly comfortable in the hand. For a more traditional gaming experience, the Joy-Con grip is a great way to start off, but the Switch Pro Controller is probably recommended for longer gameplay. Nintendo Switch: Titles
For many people, there was one big downside to the Nintendo Switch. The number of launch titles. The Nintendo Switch launched with around nine titles (a big step-down from the 32 that launched with the Wii U). I never saw this as an issue, because I figured a majority of my time would be spent getting lost in the Zelda game. However, now that the Switch has been out for a few weeks, there are now 24 games. And, the library is still growing. At the time this was written, the next major title set to come out is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The game is going to launch on April 28th, 2017. There are also several other games set to come out, before then. For example, Lego City Undercover will be released on April 4th and Puyo Puyo Tetris on April 25th. With an ever-growing library, I don't see the selection of Switch games being an issue. There will also be lots of big titles scheduled to launching this Holiday season. From Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, and NBA 2K18. You can also expect to see Minecraft, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, FIFA and much more on the Switch, in the future. Nintendo Switch: The Verdict The Nintendo Switch is a solidly built piece of hardware. It has solid controls, and a great display (even with the "low" 720 resolution). The gameplay is very enjoyable and extremely diverse, with the console and portable styled game modes. I have really enjoyed playing on my Switch. I've probably enjoyed the Switch more than I've enjoyed playing on my other game systems lately. The portability factor is a huge plus, for me. I would definitely recommend at least checking out the Nintendo Switch. I believe it is a great console, all around. There will probably be some things that will take some getting used to, like the feel of the controls. Have any of you tried out the Nintendo Switch? How do you like it? What's Changed in Eleven Years? Eleven years. That's how long it has been since I last owned a Nintendo decice. That decice was the original Nintendo DS, which was released in late 2004. So, how much has Nintendo's handheld console changed? The New 3DS XL: First Impressions In all honesty, for a long time I had lost some interest in Nintendo's handheld consoles. The only things that kept my interest were the Pokemon games. I have had the New 3DS XL for the past few days. So far, I am enjoying it, a lot. Using the New 3DS XL, I have really been enjoying the larger screen size, and much improved graphics. Now, when I say much improved, I do mean on select games. For example, the change in graphics from the Pokemon games for Nintendo DS to the Pokemon games for the New 3DS were far greater (in my opinion); than the changes from the GameBoy Advance games to the Nintendo DS games. Some games, such as the Super Mario games, didn't see as drastic of a change in graphics quality. Another big change from the DS to Nintendo's current handhelds, is the online capabilities. The DS line did not get Wi-Fi capabilities until almost a full year after it's original release; and even then you needed an external device to use it. The New 3DS XL, however, has a broad range of uses for its online functions. Everything from; online multiplayer gaming, exchange in-game item, and even watching YouTube videos on your console. As I said earlier, I have only been using the 3DS for the past few days. So I will be posting a full review at a later time.
What are your thoughts on Nintendo's latest handheld console? Do you think they've made changes worthy of an upgrade? WWhat Is the GX700? With IFA 2015 officially underway, Asus has waisted no time in trying to claim the spotlight. Earlier today Asus unveiled their new gaming laptop, the GX700. This newest edition to Asus' ROG line is definitely unlike anything ever seen in a gaming laptop. The GX700 is the first water-cooled laptop. What's It Packing? As of right now, Asus is only teasing this laptop. They have not offered much information on it, other than it will feature a 17-inch 4K display. The water-cooling rig is an external dock that gets connected to the laptop. It is similar to the external GPU amp by Alienware. It is being reported that when connected to the water-cooling dock, you will be able to overclock both the CPU and GPU for up to 80% improved performance. When and How Much? There has been no word on how much the GX700 will cost. Asus has said that it is possible that water-cooled laptop might be available by the end of 2015, but there are no promises. The "Lower End" Gaming Laptop
The GX700 wasn't the only gaming laptop announced by Asus. Asus also announced the ROG G752. This is a revamp of last years G751, and it takes the same premise as last year's ROG-take every high end spec and throw it into a laptop. You will be able to configure this laptop with your choice of 6th-generation Intel Core-i7 processors (up to the i7-6820HK), NVIDIA graphics (up to the GTX 980M with 8GB RAM), HDDs and SSDs, and up to a 17-inch 4K display (with G-Sync support). The G752 also includes a redesigned keyboard with deeper keys, and Thunderbolt 3.0. The ROG G752 will launch this winter, with a starting price of $1,499. More information can be expected before launch. Today at PAX, Razer announced that they will be making a premium XBOX One controller. This seems to be a direct competitor to the official Microsoft Elite Controller. The Wildcat has been described as "a pro-gamer-validated, tournament-grade, console controller." According to Razer, this Controller was built specifically for the purposes of e-sports. They even consulted with professional gamers during the designing process, in order to get the best results. The Wildcat will include removable back triggers made out of aluminum, a four-button media control panel, and specially designed carbon steel analog sticks. The controller is also wrapped in a rubberized grip that features accents of green to match your XBOX. This premium XBOX One controller also includes something else. A premium price tag.
The Razer Wildcat will come in at $150. The same price point as the Microsoft Elite Controller. You will be able to grab yourself a Wildcat controller in October.
During the 2015 Pokemon World Championships, Nintendo made a very exciting announcement.
Pokken Tournament, an arcade-based game that has previously only been available in Japan, is coming to the Wii U. The Wii U version, like its arcade counterpart, will be developed by Bandai Namco. Bandai Namco is known widely as the developer of TEKKEN. During the announcement of Pokken coming to Wii U, it was also announced that an additional character was being added to the current Pokken line up.PIKACHU LIBRE.
Pokken Tournament will be released for the Wii U worldwide, in the Spring of 2016.
Recently, Razer has shown great interest in the area of immersive gaming. First there was the OSVR virtual reality helmet. Their latest product, a 3-D sensing camera that uses Intel's RealSense technology. Razer is gearing this Kinect style camera specifically for gaming applications. For example, for gamers that stream on Twitch the sensors in the cameras can trace around the gamer's face and replace the background. It's works like an automatic green screen, without needing an actual green screen. Another (speculated) function is using the RealSense camera as a tool for VR gaming. For example; using it external tracker for VR headsets, scanning real objects in order to put them in the game, track hand motion, etc. Currently, there is not much more information to go on with this device. There is no pricing or estimated release date other than "coming soon". The biggest piece of information surrounding this RealSense camera is the collaboration with Razer, and the possibility of this being part of something bigger for Razer VR. It's finally happening! Earlier this year; Nintendo, along with DeNA (one of Japan's top game companies), announced that they would be joining forces to create games that bring Nintendo's franchises to mobile devices. Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata stated, "Nintendo has decided to utilize smart devices aggressively. Now that smart devices have grown to become the window for so many people to connect with society, it would be a waste not to use these devices." He went on to say, " We are challenging ourselves to redefine what 'Nintendo platforms' mean".
Satoru Iwata also announced, during the presentation that Nintendo was currently hard at work on a new home console, currently codenamed the NX. This "brand-new concept" was said to be "proof that Nintendo [still] maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business." More information will be provided next year. Thoughts Personally, I am very excited to see Nintendo go into the mobile space. I can't tell you how long I have wanted this to happen. Something that got me more excited during the announcement was something else that Satoru Iwata said. He said that Nintendo had no intention of doing what game developers have done, and simply port existing games to mobile devices. He added, "...if we cannot provide our consumers with the best possible play experience, it would just ruin the value..." Nintendo's reason for not porting existing games to mobile devices is simple, "there are significant differences in the controls, strengths and weaknesses between the controllers for dedicated game systems and the touchscreen of devices." Why this is good news for US Some people out there might be thinking,"what's the big deal about Nintendo making games for mobile devices? You can just buy a DS handheld for mobile Nintendo gaming." First of all, there are times when you can't carry around an additional device and the games for it. Now we won't have to. We will be able to have our favorite Nintendo characters on our phone or tablet. Second, for those that prefer to only carry around their phone or tablet, we have had to settle for emulators. Let's face it, even though emulators are good to play your favorite"old school" nintendo games, they are missing that authentic feel you get from a game running on its native device. Many say that "emulators are in a "moral grey area", but now we won't have to worry about that grey dilemma. We will be able to get our games straight from the "official" source. Why this is good for NINTENDO I've already seen, all throughout social media, people asking "what took Nintendo so long to get into this market?" The only ones that can answer that exactly, are the people over at Nintendo. For whatever reason, Nintendo felt that NOW was the best time to make there move into the mobile device platform. As you will find by making a quick google search, they were right. Since making their announcement, (not even 24 hours ago), Nintendo's shares have gone up over 27%. This, in my opinion, is extremely impressive. I can't wait to see how Nintendo executes this new plan. I am also VERY excited to see what the NX is. What are your guys' thoughts. You can share them in a comment below, or in the GeekTech4point0 Forum. Thank you guys for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. The MacBook Pro. One of the most popular laptops on the market. I've owned one for the past four years. Up until recently, I've had a very enjoyable experience with my MacBook Pro. It has been awesome for video and photo editing, writing, and obviously, web browsing. It is a somewhat well rounded laptop. It can handle almost anything you can throw at it. I haven't had any issues with software, or usability. The transitions from Windows (four years ago) was quick and painless. Plus, OS X has a wide variety of apps.
You would think that with credentials like this, the MacBook Pro would be the one laptop that is capable of doing anything. Unfortunately for many, this is not the case. You are probably wondering, what can't the MacBook Pro do better than most other laptops? One word...GAMING! I've always heard that Macs were poor gaming computers, and I always thought it was people just criticizing Apple. Recently, however, I've been trying to test out some games, not only to review for you guys, but also simply because I love games. I have to say, and this is coming from someone that's been a fairly devoted supporter of Apple computers (not a fanboy), that gaming on a MacBook Pro has to be; in my opinion, one of the most frustrating and annoying experiences I've ever had. The MacBook Pro, although powerful, doesn't have the exact specifications needed for optimum gaming performance. While testing out games, there were several issues I encountered. Poor Frame Rate While playing games on my MacBook Pro, the first thing I realized was the really low frame rate. Based, not only on my own experiences, but also on various sources online, optimum frame rate for gaming is between 50-60 FPS. All of the games I tested on my Mac, never got higher than 30 FPS. 30 FPS is considerably low, compared to optimum gameplay FPS. FPS on MacBook Pro League of Legends: 18-29 FPS-averaged 21 FPS Minecraft: 10-16 FPS-averaged 14 FPS Goat Simulator: 7-16 FPS-averaged 12 FPS Lego Star Wars: N/A-would not run on MacBook Pro Call of Duty: N/A-would not run on MacBook Pro All of these games had-if they even ran-very poor frame rates. I would also like to add that all of these frame rates were while these games were on their lowest settings. Goat Simulator has to be the worst of all the games that I tested, in terms of compatibility. I am not giving comments on gameplay at this time. Playing Goat Simulator, was like watching a heavily scratched DVD (remember those). There was a lot of freezing, skipping, and delays in audio and video. Overheating Mac The next issue I encountered was, overheating. After about 45 minutes, my MacBook began overheating. After an hour and a half, it was unbearably hot. It would literally burn, resting my wrists on it. Poor Compatibility One of the biggest issues with gaming on a Mac is the limited selection of titles. Not only are certain titles not even available on OS X, but as you can see from my FPS list above, some games that are "compatible" with OS X won't run on it. Just because a game is on the Mac App Store and it claims to be compatible with a certain version of OS X, doesn't mean it is. Basically, what I am saying is, all computers have their purpose. For Macs, that purpose is not gaming. It may be able to do anything else, but if you want a gaming computer, get a PC. If you want the best in gaming performance and portability, get a Razer Blade gaming laptop. I've had the chance to test one, and it was beautiful. It had amazing performance, and it is thinner than a dime. I definitely can't wait to get my hands on my own Razer Blade to give you guys a full review. |
